National Cluster Inservice 2007
In response to the demand for support for newly appointed teachers, a one-day cluster inservice for coordinators and teachers of the LCVP is being offered as set out below. This inservice is catering for newly appointed teachers and coordinators of LCVP in 'old' LCVP schools as well as for teachers and coordinators in the schools that commenced the programme for the first time in September 2006. Schools intending to commence LCVP in September 2007 will also be invited to this inservice. Further information is available from the LCVP Office, Navan Education Centre - Tel 046 9078382.

The SLSS contributes to the professional development of teachers of LCVP by organising courses at national and regional level in response to the needs expressed. SLSS also supports local and regional courses organised in association with Education Centres. The SLSS works to sustain local support groups of teachers in association with Education Centres and supports the work of those agencies and associations who wish to contribute to the support of the LCVP in schools.

School visits are undertaken in response to requests where resources permit.

National Conference 2007
LCVP National Conference will take place on Saturday 24 March 2007 in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone. Conference brochure and application forms will be in schools the week beginning Monday 12 February 2007. No pre-bookings in advance of this date. Applications will only be accepted on official application form accompanied by the appropriate fee.

Network Meetings
Network meetings will continue between January and May. These will be organised by the local Associates in partnership with the Education Centres. Education Centres will send details of meetings to schools in their areas. Teachers who live in a different area to the area in which they teach can attend the Network meetings most convenient to them. Details of all Network meetings will be listed under LCVP on our website www.slss.ie. Details will also be listed on the TPN website www.lcvptpn.net and in the next issue of our Journal. Contact can also be made with your local Education Centre.

Copies of the LCVP Journals which contain updates and useful LCVP information are available from the LCVP Office in Navan Education Centre. The next issue will be published in Spring 2007. Contributions from teachers are always welcome and should be forwarded to LCVP Office, Navan Education Centre, Athlumney, Navan, Co Meath.
