SL1001: Positive Behaviour Management for School Leaders

Target Group: Behaviour management leaders in schools, year heads, class tutors, members of school code of behaviour committees etc
Course Aims: • Explore a range of practical behaviour management strategies in the classroom
• Outline methodologies to support classroom teachers in dealing with low level disruptive behaviour.
• Consider responses to more serious misbehaviour - dealing with Social Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD)
• Develop effective negotiating skills and skills for conflict resolution with adults
• Explore the process of reviewing and developing behaviour policies and codes in line with recent legislation
• Consider issues around developing a whole school response to behaviour management
• Provide opportunities for developing strategies on introducing, supporting and sustaining innovation in schools.
The course will have a practical focus and will provide opportunities for participants to engage in discussion and share good practice.
