HIST1001: An Introduction to the Leaving Certificate History Syllabus

Target Group: Teachers new to Leaving Certificate History or who have not previously attended in-service for the Leaving Certificate History syllabus
Course Aims: A series of one day regional cluster in-service events has been organised specifically for teachers new to Leaving Certificate History or who have not previously attended in-service for the Leaving Certificate History syllabus. The course aims to familiarise participants with the structure, principles and main features of the Leaving Certificate History syllabus. It will focus in particular on two integral parts of the syllabus - the documents-based study and the research study. These will be considered in terms of their classroom application and, also, their assessment in the Leaving Certificate examination.
